Now, I wish that I could say otherwise because I really do understand the whole purpose of it, and I would love it... if it worked. For the general population of our school, it does work ... Until they open the doors and send people to fourth period.
The thing that I really hate about it though, is that they try and MAKE you cry. I have no issue standing up and admitting that my loved ones have died, but when you stand up there and provoke my tears with words like "Do you remember their face?" and "Did you tell them everything you needed to say?" It really just pisses me off. The one that got me today though, was the question about your siblings.
At first, it really just made me laugh, honestly, who doesn't make their siblings' lives hard? It's what siblings do. We fight, and push each other, we get into arguments -- it's natural. So yeah, I stood up. But when the woman who was asking us to stand started talking about "What if today was their last day? What if you never saw them again", That right there really pissed me off. That's doing way too much, and pushing way too many buttons. Yeah. I want to feel this emotion you're trying to show me, but dammit, I've already lost one brother, and one of my sisters suffers from seizures, today really could be her last day. So SHUT THE FUCK UP. seriously. I got the point without you pushing me and pushing me to that extent.
The entire point of this assembly was to make people into better persons, but all it really ended up doing is make about half our student body cry for an hour or so. the end. =/.
The highlight of my day:
Lady
"How many of you live, or have lived in a bad neighborhood? Please stand" (something like that anywho)
Me
"Aha, That means everybody in Antioch. -points- Stand up! Stand up!"

All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
--
I keep my promises.
Cross my heart and hope to die.

Life will never just give you what you want that's how life is, you have to stand up and earn it yourself so that the world knows that you out of everyone else will not be deagged done by life and it's means to reject you!
I'll keep the advice in mind.
You don't either, kay?

I keep my promises.
